SPECIAL EVENT INSURANCE

POLICY HIGHLIGHTS

INSURANCE OVERVIEW

AREA Special Event insurance is written to provide coverage for an activity that isn’t covered under most traditional insurance policies. Unlike a traditional business that operates on a regular basis throughout the year special events tend to be short term in nature and may last for a few hours up to as much as a several weeks. There are numerous reasons why an event needs to be covered separately but the usual reasons are that:

bullet

the insured's only exposure is a short term event,

bullet

the event is a joint venture and none of the sponsors will cover it under their own program,

bullet

the event owner does not want to cover it under their overall program or their carrier has excluded an event from their program.

The reason why a special event policy is needed isn’t necessarily important as long as the event and the controls in place are acceptable to AREA underwriters.

AREA Special event policies can be written on a short term basis or on an annual basis. We prefer to issue short term policies that coincide with the date(s) of the event that we are covering.  There are situations where annual policies may be required and we can issue policies on this basis. The two most likely reasons for an annual policy will be that the insured would like us to cover a number of events and prefers a single policy for all events or the insured has ancillary activities like planning meetings throughout the year that they want coverage for.

The AREA Special Event policy is underwritten and administered by Allen Financial Insurance Group and insured by a national, A rated insurance carrier.

Every year millions of spectators attend and participate special events ranging from concerts to  rodeos.  Finding the right kind of insurance coverage can often be difficult and costly.  Buying groups and cooperatives have proven to be sensible ways of saving money.  Now America’s entertainment and recreation industry is realizing that liability insurance can also be obtained more economically when affiliated with a national organization.  The AREA liability program has provided coverage for thousands of events at an affordable price.
